Abstract

The time in which we live is called the time of the information revolution and is characterized by a high degree of industrialization, technical progress and automation, which results in a reduction in physical activity, i.e. volume of daily movement activities. Thus, man relies more and more on his intellectual abilities, and less and less on movement. It is for this reason that a person should dedicate himself to daily moderate physical exercise in order to compensate for his daily need for movement. Proper attitude towards physical exercise, as well as the formed habit of exercising in early childhood, are some of the crucial factors that determine whether physical activity in the later stages of life will be an integrated part of life. Only in this way can today’s man avoid the consequences of hypokinetic syndrome.

Abstract

Technical education and arts education in younger years of elementary school often contribute to final effects of the activities undertaken by children. This process is connected with the human need to create objects, which apart from being more or less useful should be also beautiful. The study focuses on the difficulties some early school education teachers have to distinguish activities related to tasks carried out within the scope of technical education and those related to arts education. It should be underlined that children’s ability to create objects of practical use is mostly emphasized by the principles and aims of technical education, whereas the purpose of art activities is to help children discover beauty by collecting experience. Despite such assumptions, a significant part of the respondents does not notice any distinctive variations between these educational areas, stating that the distinctions are blurred and indicating that selected art tasks are parts of technical classes.

Abstract

The main directions of digitalization of the education system are considered, the infrastructural and technological aspect of new strategic directions of development is analyzed. The author analyzed information systems and services in education, taking into account the possibility of using technologies for analytical data processing. The problem of using data analytics tools in education at present is the lack of uniform formats and tools for integrating information systems. Data in education accumulates in various solutions that do not share the results of the educational process. Based on this, it is impossible to build a clear system of end-to-end interaction between systems on common platforms. The author aims to solve this problem by modeling an integrated solution for data analysis at all levels of education. The article proposes technical and organizational solutions for the creation of integrated analytics services that allow accumulating and transmitting data on educational results during the transition of a student between learning levels. The analysis tools are based on the use of big data technologies.

Abstract

In the article I will present the concept of using eye-tracking to examine the ergonomics of operating an Internet educational portal in the acceptance testing process. In the test performed, the results were obtained in nine sections characteristic of the defined AOI 1 vs. REC. Selected data has been presented as an example of the results obtained from a complete study showing how users browse the content of the primary conclusion is the way of arranging information on the home page. Permanent arrangement of information takes the form of a non-editable menu. This is the most popular solution found, because it allows for permanent unity of content and easy search. 1. Coherence is located in the context of logical substantive integration. 2. Communication is measured by measuring average time viewed, fixations and number of revisits to defined areas.

Abstract

The article analyses the impact of gamification on the effectiveness of the learning process with the use of the original mobile application. Gamification methods and gamification assessments attract more and more attention from both researchers and practitioners. We present the impact of learning rules and regulations of handball on the future referees of handball and people from the handball community (players, activists, sympathizers) from the implemented mobile application in comparison with the traditional method, i.e., from books or printed regulations. The results of the knowledge test for the users of the application were much better than traditional education. The analysis showed that in the first test, the users using the application and traditional learning achieved the same results (52%). In contrast, in the second test, the users using the application achieved 73% in comparison with the group not using the app (59%). Such a result may indicate that learning from the application has a good impact on the user. The adoption of gamification in learning and teaching is very popular and stimulating student motivation, involvement, and social influence.

Abstract

Professional burnout syndrome is undoubtedly another civilisation disease that affects modern societies. In May 2021 professional burnout was included within the list of the WHO International Classification of Diseases, however, not as a disease, but as an occupational syndrome significantly affecting health of an employee. However, it is worth noting that it is only from 2022 that professional burnout will have become a disease which will need to be treated. The research presented below shows that there are many factors which cause this new disease, and stress is among the main ones. Working as a teacher, which is considered one of the professions of supportive nature, means being exposed to various stress factors. One of the most dangerous effects is professional burnout which can lead, among others, to many health disorders, subjective treatment of students, and ultimately, make teachers resign from their job.

Abstract

This paper emphasizes the role of universities in encouraging ecological initiatives for sustainable development. We characterized the origin of sustainability and its consistency with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. Moreover, we present ecological education as the concept of lifelong learning in the spirit of respect for the natural world. The examples of pro-ecological higher education initiatives were described, such as Poznan School of Logistics (“EKO-LOG” programme), Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce and the University of Social and Medical Sciences in Warsaw (education of ethnic minorities), Andrzej Frycz-Modrzewski Krakow University and the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Friend of the National Park educational program) as well as the AGH University of Science and Technology (continuing education). It has been shown that schools and universities play a major role in environmental education not only for children, but also adults. It is worth mentioning that the potential and clout of universities should be continuously employed in the environmental movement.

Abstract

University didactics determines the individual’s place in the educational process as well as provides for a multidirectional continuing education which environmental protection is an important point. This discipline perfectly combines methods of working and scientific research. This paper describes particulates which are produced naturally and by anthropogenic sources. The influence of fossil fuel combustion on atmosphere conditions in a large urban agglomeration is shown. I discuss the causes of the high concentration of particulate matter pollution in Poland, which is tied to city planning and the development of the energy industry as well as the municipal and residential sector. The effects of introducing a ban on burning solid fuels inKrakow are reported.
